Krisztián Nyáry is a communication specialist, publisher, writer, literary historian, author of the books Thus They Loved 1-2-3, True Heroes – 33 Hungarians, Bold Hungarians – 30 Human Stories and Picturesque Loves.
Between 1990-1995 he was a student of Hungarian Language and Literature and Art at the Janus Pannonius University of Pécs. Since 1995 he has been an assistant lecturer at the same university, his research area being the history of Hungarian poetry in the first half of the 19th century. Between 1994 and 1998 he was editor of the literary journal Szépliteratúrai Ajándék (Literary Gifts) in Pécs.
From 1996, he was a press officer in the Budapest Mayor’s Office, and from 1997 he was press officer. Between 2000 and 2001 she worked as a company director at the Marketing Centrum National Market Research Institute, and between 2001 and 2005 as a senior consultant at the American-Hungarian strategic communications firm Sawyer Miller Group. Between 2002 and 2006 she was a member of the board of the Hungarian Public Relations Association.
In 2015-16 he was Director of Magvető Publishing House and Athenaeum Publishing House. From 1 July 2016, he was appointed Creative Director of Líra Könyv Zrt. and Artistic Director of the Magvető Café literary café.
In recognition of his work, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the XIIIth District of Budapest in 2022.
