András Bartók is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Public Service and an analyst at Political Capital Institute.

András Bartók, assistant lecturer at the University of Public Service (Hungary), Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies, Department of International Relations and Diplomacy and a PhD Candidate of the University’s Doctoral School of Military Studies. He is also an analyst at Political Capital, political consulting and research institution. He has a BA East Asian Studies and MA in Japanese Studies from Károli University (Hungary). He was a Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellow at the Hungarian Institute of World Economics. Research interests and publication background cover East Asian Studies, Security and Strategic Studies, National Security and Defense Policies of Northeast Asian countries, Demography and Security, Hungary-East Asia relations and Hungarian Public Perceptions on the People’s Republic of China. Previous and ongoing research projects have aimed to outline the role of maritime territorial disputes in East Asia, changing military capabilities of regional and extra-regional actors as well as evolving strategic perceptions and concepts of Japan, China, and Taiwan.

Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield is a Member of the European Parliament of the Greens–European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) group.

Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield is a French politician from the ecologist party Europe Ecologie Les Verts, who was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019.

In parliament, Delbos-Corfield has since been serving as deputy chairwoman of the Greens–European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) group, under the leadership of co-chairs Philippe Lamberts (since 2019), Ska Keller (2019–2022) and Terry Reintke (since 2022).

From 2019 until 2020, Delbos-Corfield also served as vice-chair of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality. In 2020, she joined the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the Special Committee on Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union. She is also member of the Democracy, Rule of Law & Fundamental Rights Monitoring Groupband the rapporteur on the rule of law in Hungary.

Since 2021, Delbos-Corfield has been part of the Parliament’s delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe. Also since 2021, she has been part of the Parliament’s delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Assembly, which provides parliamentary oversight over the implementation of the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

In addition to her committee assignments, Delbos-Corfield is a member of the Spinelli Group, the European Parliament Intergroup on Fighting against Poverty and the European Parliament Intergroup on LGBT Rights.

Since 2023, Delbos-Corfield has been part of the Centre for European Policy Studies/Heinrich Böll Foundation High-Level Group on Bolstering EU Democracy, chaired by Kalypso Nicolaïdis.

John Morijn is a Professor at University of Groningen and a Fellow in Law and Public Policy at Princeton School of Public & International Affairs.

John was born in Dordrecht, The Netherlands to biology teacher Willemien and bookbinder Willem (specialized in ancient books and bibles). He has a brother, engineer Ton, and, since 2009, has been married to UN war crimes investigator and human rights specialist Lina. He studied law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, European Union law at the Bruges College of Europe and human rights at the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratization in Venice. He holds a PhD in international law from the European University Institute in Florence.

Since finishing the PhD in 2009 John has combined a part-time appointment as a university lecturer in European human rights law at the University of Groningen with different positions in Dutch civil service. He worked as a senior EU affairs adviser and senior human rights law at the Ministries of Justice and the Interior, working mainly on EU human rights and rule of law-, and privacy issues. More recently he served as the head of unit of the Interior Ministry at the Dutch Permanent Representation to the EU, including during the Netherlands EU presidency in 2016. His interests range from general international law to international and European human rights law to EU law, and more recently, populism. John’s publications and book reviews have appeared, amongst others, in Common Market Law Review, European Law Journal, International and Comparative Law Quarterly and Netherlands International Law Review and in edited books published by, for example, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Hart Publishing.

Jesse Scott is a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Economic Research.

Until September 2022, Jesse Scott was Director of International Programmes at Agora Energiewende. She led Agora’s work on the energy transition beyond Europe in major and emerging economies, including research projects, collaborations with country partner think tanks, and strategy. Before joining Agora in 2019, she worked at the International Energy Agency in Paris where she was a lead author of the Agency’s pathbreaking report on the opportunities and risks of digitalizing the energy system. Prior to that, she worked for fifteen years in Brussels on European Union energy and climate policy-making, including as Head of Climate and Environment for the electricity sector association Eurelectric and as organiser of cross-sector advocacy to strengthen the EU Emissions Trading System from 2011 to 2014.

In autumn 2022, Jesse Scott is taking a part-sabbatical while joining DIW as a visiting researcher to work with the German government on G7 and G20 agenda follow through and on Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs). She also continues to teach at the Hertie School Centre for Sustainability. Jesse’s experience spans business, government, campaigning, law, and think tanks. She holds a degree and masters from Cambridge University and also studied in Italy at the European University Institute.

Dr. Jeffrey Gedmin is co-founder and editor-in-chief of American Purpose, the magazine and media venture. He is on temporary assignment as acting president and CEO of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Prague, where he previously served as President and CEO of RFE/RL from 2007/2012. He is former President/CEO of the London-based Legatum Institute and the Aspen Institute Berlin.

Irina Kravchenko is the Deputy Head of Ukraine at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Irina Kravchenko was appointed as Deputy Head of the EBRD Resident Office in Ukraine in May 2020. Previously, Ms. Kravchenko worked as Head of the EBRD Office in Mongolia, an Adviser to the EBRD Managing Director of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region, working closely with the Managing Director in managing the EBRD’s operational activities and policy dialogue in the SEMED region, covering Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Before taking the responsibility of the Advisor, Ms. Kravchenko served as the Head of lending to local enterprises and co-financing with local banks. She designed and implemented financial products for small and medium-sized companies in early transition countries and led equity and debt investments across various sectors in Eastern Europe and CIS countries. She also acted as the EBRD’s nominee director on the boards of investee firms in Belarus and Ukraine.
